He has traveled extensively as an International Model for R. J. Reynolds as the "International Camel Man."
Bruce Butler is known for molding metal like "clay." He has developed many unique techniques in steel sculpture design, using scrap metal and found objects. Bruce uses Arc Welding and Oxy-Acetylene Fusion Welding to build very powerful 3-D images. Many of Bruce’s designs portray Native American Tribal Warriors and Shaman.
Bruce is a pioneer in his technique with steel. By combining bronze with steel, he has developed many different and unique textures. Some of Bruce's sculptures take him a year or more to complete, paying close attention to detail. Bronze and rusted steel patinas give the pieces a look of antiquity and uniqueness.
Many art appreciators, critics and collectors have described Bruce's work as "Strong Presences." Each piece possesses an intensely personal presence and identity of its own.
